STAINED GLASS RUSKIN
Documentation shot of Stained Glass Ruskin.
Stained Glass Ruskin is an installation of projected panels of stained glass onto the art school’s facade. The panels sequentially glitch, changing to their inverse colour.
Stained Glass Ruskin is an investigation into (re-)processing material; from creating the stained glass panels, scanning and digitally editing them, projecting them onto real windows, and eventually converting the installation into a gif. Their journey oscillates between the virtual and real spaces, muddling the two along the way. The dissonance created is further emphasised by the work’s religious connotations literally being projected onto an art school. There is humour in this attempt at grandeur, and it raises questions about the role art institutions play in the lives of an artist.
